Adorable Brown and White Spotted Goat Hanging Out in a Field in Jamaica

Spotted goat

I took this photo of a Jamaican goat because it was spotted and thus, different than most I’d seen in Billy’s Bay, Treasure Beach. I loved the colors, the brown and white, and thought he/she was adorable, which is why I’m sharing the picture here.

I tried to make the typical goat sound–the ‘maa-maa’–but he/she didn’t respond. Disappointing, but understandable. I’m not the best animal impersonator.

Later on, I noticed a bunch of other goats grazing nearby. I gave it another shot (the talking, that is). And guess what? A few of them responded.

I’m not sure if it was coincidence (maybe they were ready to speak anyway)? :)

In any case, I got a kick out if it and tried it again. They responded a second time. At least, I think so.

Your Thoughts/Reactions?

Have you been to Treasure Beach, Jamaica? If so, what did you think? How many goats did you see? Did you see any like this one?

More importantly, did you try to communicate with the goats? If so, were you successful?

Also, do you think the other goats I mentioned were responding to me or that it was a coincidence? :)

SO so cute. There are loads of goats all over Saba (another Caribbean island) and they just roam free, leaping and bounding up hills by roads, making their hilarious chatter. Simple pleasures.

Hi, Colleen. Never heard of Saba. Hmmm. Will need to google that. The way you described the goats is right on. Their chatter is quite funny (which is probably why I gave it a shot). And yes, a simple pleasure to see them. :)
