I took this photo of a hand-carved dugout Kuna Yala canoe in San Blas, Panama. It is used by the Kuna (local indigenous) for transportation and fishing.
I zoomed in on the hand-painted design so that players in this round would have to work hard to win. The person who guessed it followed these steps:

The Answer:
The inside of a hand-carved dugout Kuna Yala canoe. While visiting the San Blas islands, I saw many of these. Here’s the same photo of the canoe, pre-cropping.
These types of canoes, by the way, are called ‘ulus,’ and the Kuna use big hand-carved paddles to propel themselves. It takes approximately 1 to 2 weeks to make one, depending on the size.

It appears to be part of a painting. The paints look like the type which are made up from packets of powder. The piece of rope suggests boats or a maritime area. Given the bright colors, I will guess this has been taken in a Latin country in SouthAm, CentralAm or Spain, on the the coast.
Hello, Robert. I’m not sure that this is truly ‘art work’ and if you study the pattern and the colors closely, you’ll see that. So I wouldn’t call it a ‘painting.’ But yes, paint is involved.
Maritime is a ‘hot’ guess. But you’ll need to be more specific than that to be declared the ‘winner.’
Re: where…I’d say you’re on the right track, but I won’t say more than that now. Will give someone else a chance–LOL.

So maritime is indeed hot. I thought about that, I was thinking this is the underside of a boat. But I am having a hard time figuring out whether there’s water here, and the blurred lines are due because of it. I can almost see the ripples caused by the rope.
Just looking at your tags, I’ll make Indonesia as the first guess as to where this is.

Underside of a boat is super hot, but not exactly correct. Also, what kind of boat? And where? It’s not in Indonesia.
Where? It is in a Pacific coastal country on South or Central America.
Type of boat? A wooden boat. On a fairground or park ride.

Okay, time to ask questions. Is it the underside of a maritime vessel? I don’t think you took the photo from underwater, so if it is the underside of a vessel, then the vessel is upside-down floating. It looks like it is made of wood. Maybe it’s a barge.

Ok, so far here’s what we have. It is the INSIDE of a functioning boat; I am guessing it is a canoe of some sort. It is not in Nicaragua, but somewhere else in Central America; I will guess Panama.

Ah…great guess–and you’re right! Canoe…and in Panama. I could declare you the winner, but…it would be fun to see if you could figure out which indigenous group uses this kind of boat.
Hmm, I didn’t know off the top of my head, so I did my research (I checked Wikipedia and your previous articles, of course).
And so I am guessing this is the inside of a boat of the Ngöbe-Buglé/Guaymi people, who mostly dwell in Chiriqui province.

Okay, how about this? My newest guess would be it’s a boat from the Kuna people: I saw you’ve been to San Blas, which seems to be also known as Guna Yala, in the Caribbean.
